Let It Ride is a casino game in which a player hopes to get a poker hand that is a pair of tens or higher. The player will make three bets, and can take back one or two of the bets if they don’t think that they will make a pair or tens or better.
Basic Let It Ride Hand
- Each player makes three bets of equal amounts
- Each player is dealt three cards and two community cards are set face down on the table.
- The players look at their cards and can choose to take one of their bets back. If they don’t take back a bet, they “Let It Ride.”
- Dealer flips over one of the two community cards
- Each player must choose for the second time whether to take a bet back or let it ride.
- The dealer flips over the second community card.
- Winning hands are paid off.
Let It Ride Strategy
The best strategy for Let It Ride is to only “Let it ride” when you are sure that you will have a winning hand. Since that can be difficult to determine, you should also “Let it ride” when you have a lot of chances to make a big hand, such as having all 3 card be ten or better, or having 3 cards to a royal flush or a straight flush. For the first option, these are really the only situations in which you should “Let it ride.” However, for the second option, you can “let it ride” a lot more. In addition to the previous examples, you can also “let it ride” when you have a flush draw or an open ended straight draw. Otherwise, you should pull out your bets. Also, you should be very cautious and not go after marginal hands very often, as this will cost you in the long run.
